confident faith

For I have stayed on God’s paths;
I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
12I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food.

Darkness is all around me;
thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere.

To have the confidence in my faith as Job. He is secure in his walk, his friends try to cause doubt but he is firm in his faith but no one believes him.

Lord God,
Allow me to have faith with out doubt as Job did. Allow my walk to be lead by you and your truth. Put friends in my path who will support my growth and not judge me. Give me boldness and confidence, reveal the areas I am struggling with so I may grow closer to you.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Faith is personal

These men say that night is day;
they claim that the darkness is light.

Even if I have sinned,
that is my concern, not yours.
5You think you’re better than I am,
using my humiliation as evidence of my sin.

The words of this world can and are twisted to sound so good. My faith is between Bod and me. I can share it with the world but I can’t expect the world to understand it from my perspective. God has to open the hearts to hear truth for it to be accepted. I have to work on my faith one on one with God, He will reveal truth to me as I am ready.

Oh Lord God,
Thank you for designing this relationship, allow me to see your truth in my faith and bring me along side you to experience this place as Jesus did.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Total trust in God, not in me.

“I wish you would hide me in the grave
and forget me there until your anger has passed.
But mark your calendar to think of me again!

I could say the same things if you were in my place.
I could spout off criticism and shake my head at you.
5But if it were me, I would encourage you.
I would try to take away your grief.
6Instead, I suffer if I defend myself,
and I suffer no less if I refuse to speak.

I struggle with Job and his struggles in his attitude. I have a hard time understanding what he means in his suffering. I think I am starting to understand he is expressing overwhelming grief and just expressing that, Not once does he get mad and attack God, he understands whatever despair he is in God is still in control and Job is willing to accept whatever God allows to happen to him to happen.

Lord God,
Thank you for your lesson in Job, Help me to surrender my life to you so I can be confident in knowing you are in control of all and of my life belongs to you. Have your way with me and delight in me.

In Jesus name,
Amen

trapped by my life so far

“O God, grant me these two things,
and then I will be able to face you.
21Remove your heavy hand from me,
and don’t terrify me with your awesome presence.
22Now summon me, and I will answer!
Or let me speak to you, and you reply.
23Tell me, what have I done wrong?
Show me my rebellion and my sin.

Lord God,
As Job pleas, so do I.
Show me the errors of my way, expose my rebellion and sin that blocks me from your presence and desire you have for me. May I delight in serving you completely. Take fear and insecurity from me and allow your way for me to rest fully on my heart. Expose your desire for me to follow.
In Jesus name,
Amen

How hard it is to avoid my way.

Though I am innocent, my own mouth would pronounce me guilty.
Though I am blameless, it would prove me wicked.

32“God is not a mortal like me,
so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial.
33If only there were a mediator between us,
someone who could bring us together.

“You people really know everything, don’t you?
And when you die, wisdom will die with you!

“But true wisdom and power are found in God;
counsel and understanding are his.

If only you could be silent!
That’s the wisest thing you could do.
6Listen to my charge;
pay attention to my arguments.

“Be silent now and leave me alone.
Let me speak, and I will face the consequences.
14Why should I put myself in mortal danger
and take my life in my own hands?
15God might kill me, but I have no other hope.
I am going to argue my case with him.

To be in such a relationship with God that I may hear all his counsel in all things and act on them. To release what I think is wisdom and replace it with His truth.

Lord God,
release me from the bindings that restrict me from living completely in your truth. Help me to release what I think is wisdom and rely on your truth to guide my thoughts and way in this world.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Complete surrender

Satan answered the lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

Then the lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”

In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.

Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and nights. No one said a word to Job, for they saw that his suffering was too great for words.

“Oh, why give light to those in misery,
and life to those who are bitter?

Oh to have the spirit of Job.

Lord God,
Help me to see the truth in the example of Job. Protect me from Satan as he patrols the earth using the goodness we get from you against us. Allow me to take delight in surrendering my will to you each moment of each day.

In Jesus name,
Amen

The obvious.

As the beating of cream yields butter
and striking the nose causes bleeding,
so stirring up anger causes quarrels.

Lord God, Cleanse my spirit, my soul, my heart and my thoughts. Make them new and fresh with your overwhelming peace and love so I may not stir up any anger in this world. May I be a vessel that only carries your light to this dark world.

Open my soul to follow Him.

Fools vent their anger,
but the wise quietly hold it back.

Words alone will not discipline a servant;
the words may be understood, but they are not heeded.

The righteous despise the unjust;
the wicked despise the godly.

Lord God, Help me to not live in the conflict between rite and wrong, guide me to follow you and be free of the stress of my poor decisions. May I delight in following you today.

In Jesus name,
Amen

He knows….

For God understands all hearts, and he sees you.
He who guards your soul knows you knew.

A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
34then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools,
or you will become as foolish as they are.
5Be sure to answer the foolish arguments of fools,
or they will become wise in their own estimation.

Lord God,
Help me to only do rite, help me to surrender to your way and be a light of your truth to this world.

In Jesus name,
Amen
