Why is it so hard to live Holy?

God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy.

There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7These trials will show that your faith is genuine.

Just as Peter took his eyes off of Christ after his faith allowed him to step out of the boat, in the storms that I am in I often take my eyes off of the Savior and feel the stress.

Lord help me to see past the storms and live only in your glory.

How strong am I in my trials?

The lying witnesses said, “This man is always speaking against the holy Temple and against the law of Moses. 14We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy the Temple and change the customs Moses handed down to us.”
15At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel’s.

Lord may I have the integrity and pureness of heart in hard times that I may shine bright in your name.

Why do I hide “stuff” from God?

Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. 4The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”
As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died.

Why do I try to hide things and not surrender things to God. All he really wants us to be honest with our thoughts and actions.

How long have I been crippled?

I think I have been crippled since birth in one way and/or another.

For everyone was praising God for this miraculous sign—the healing of a man who had been lame for more than forty years.

So why is it so hard to have a true healing kind of faith.

The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

Lord God; I want to be bold in my faith and be healed from my sin nature to become whole with you. In Jesus name, Amen.
