absolutely believe

Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to not limit your plan through me, help me to believe that literally, anything is possible through you. Keep me from doubt and fear, help me find calm confident faith.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Quietly follow

He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants, and camels.

Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had.

Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.

“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to follow your plan when I don’t understand, give me obedience. I know you are for me, help me to allow you to have your way with all I have. Make me aware of evil and keep me from fear. I want to truly believe and be righteous.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Who am I

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm: 7“Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. 8“Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?

Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me.

You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.

My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. 6Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.

Lord God my Father,

Make me quiet to I may hear you, give me a peace that reveals you, remove my judgmental way. You are creator of all, and you made me in your image. Keep my desires at bay so I may be restored to your design emotionally. Make me like Levithan, fearless and secure, unafraid of any attack, reveal yourself in all my struggles. Show me how to Love louder than the darkness.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Strength building.

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: 2“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? 3Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.

Lord God my Father,

I can’t understand your plan, but I can know of your power. Thank you for showing yourself to me in my struggles and thank you for showing me strength in my faith through them. I am learning to trust you in my storms and for that I am grateful.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One wisdom, not many.

“I am young in years, and you are old; that is why I was fearful, not daring to tell you what I know. 7I thought, ‘Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.’

My words come from an upright heart; my lips sincerely speak what I know.

God has delivered me from going down to the pit, and I shall live to enjoy the light of life.’ 29“God does all these things to a person— twice, even three times— 30to turn them back from the pit, that the light of life may shine on them.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from arrogance and bring peace to my thoughts. Help me to know you so I may act as you desire. Keep my words from being from my wisdom but allow your wisdom to flow through me. Your lesson is for my good, keep me from questioning you.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His…

Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness. 27The churning inside me never stops; days of suffering confront me.

“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman. 2For what is our lot from God above, our heritage from the Almighty on high?

“If I have walked with falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit— 6let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless—

if I have concealed my sin as people do, by hiding my guilt in my heart

Lord God my Father,

Give me strength to deal with life as it is, give me Peace to keep my focus on you alone. Protect me from evil desires and keep my heart close to you. Purify my life so I may honor you with all thoughts.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

No desire = Peace

And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”

“As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter, 3as long as I have life within me, the breath of God in my nostrils, 4my lips will not say anything wicked, and my tongue will not utter lies.

Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell? 21It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds in the sky.

“The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”

Lord God my Father,

You are too great for me to understand but your ways are restful. Keep me from struggling to understand your plan but keep my desire to follow you strong. Keep me from understanding your wisdom but allow it to rest on me, keep my thoughts in your will.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One with His wisdom.

in the face of the darkness light is near.

Ten times now you have reproached me; shamelessly you attack me. 4If it is true that I have gone astray, my error remains my concern alone. 5If indeed you would exalt yourselves above me and use my humiliation against me, 6then know that God has wronged me and drawn his net around me.

I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. 26And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

“My troubled thoughts prompt me to answer because I am greatly disturbed. 3I hear a rebuke that dishonors me, and my understanding inspires me to reply.

Lord God my Father,

You are the light, hope and delight that puts everything in it’s place. Help me to follow you only and not listen to any of my own thoughts. Without you, my decisions are weak, you are my strength. Keep me under your peace and protect me from understanding on my own.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One purpose.

Why has your heart carried you away, and why do your eyes flash, 13so that you vent your rage against God and pour out such words from your mouth?

Then Job replied: 2“I have heard many things like these; you are miserable comforters, all of you! 3Will your long-winded speeches never end? What ails you that you keep on arguing?

“I have sewed sackcloth over my skin and buried my brow in the dust. 16My face is red with weeping, dark shadows ring my eyes; 17yet my hands have been free of violence and my prayer is pure.

My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; 21on behalf of a man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.

Lord God my Father,

No matter my frame of mind, you are my Lord. Protect me and encourage me in your will to rest only in your Truth. Help me to reveal your way in all I do so your hope is apparent. Keep me from acting on my own. You are my strength, hope and future.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
